Positive Vibes Only Brings Empowerment and Encouragement to Gary Lighthouse Charter School

As part of its ongoing mission to promote mental wellness and youth empowerment through music and mentorship, Positive Vibes Only visited Gary Lighthouse Charter School on Friday, May 16 to host an engaging and inspirational session for 4th through 8th grade students.

Led by Positive Vibes Only founder RJ Griffith, a Chicago-based singer-songwriter and actor, the event combined live music, real-life storytelling, and motivational speaking. RJ spoke to the students about the challenges young people face today and the importance of staying positive, even when life feels overwhelming.

“One of the key messages we bring with Positive Vibes Only is that your mindset matters,” said Griffith. “We want students to understand that while struggles are part of life, they have the power to choose how they respond. Filling your mind with positive music, podcasts, and influences can completely shift the direction of your day and your future.”

The event was met with excitement and enthusiasm from students, who connected deeply with RJ’s message and energy. Many stayed after the presentation to ask questions, take pictures, and get autographs, further showing the impact of the visit.

This school appearance is part of Positive Vibes Only’s larger initiative to reach students across the Midwest with messages of hope, personal growth, and mental health awareness. The nonprofit uses music and storytelling to break down barriers and open up conversations around the importance of emotional wellness and positive decision-making.

Through partnerships with schools, community centers, and youth organizations, Positive Vibes Only continues to bring its mission to life in a meaningful and relatable way.
